Hands-On Science with OpenUniverse2024 Roman and Rubin Simulations

Join us for this free, hands-on workshop to explore OpenUniverse2024 data. OpenUniverse2024 is a collection of simulated observations designed to resemble future data from the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope and the Vera C. Rubin Observatory, including simulated wide-field imaging, time-domain observations, and mock source catalogs. We’ll use Python Jupyter notebooks to explore the data and demonstrate how complementary survey data can be combined for scientific analysis in scalable workflows.

Manage Scratch Storage from the Dashboard

You can now manage your own scratch storage space directly from the Fornax Dashboard! Scratch storage is a working area for large data in cases where your S3 storage isn’t performant enough and your home directory is too small. You can expand your scratch area up to 3 TB for days or weeks at a time while you process large data and release it when you’re done. For details, see Data Storage in the Fornax User Documentation.
