As of 13:00 ET on Oct 20, 2025, the Fornax deployment appears to be affected by the outage reported in many AWS services. Starting a notebook server may timeout trying to allocate the compute resources.
Since this issue is with AWS itself, we suggest trying again if your notebooks server fails to start.
