Science console URL update and transition to Discourse

Dear Fornax Users,

We are writing to inform you of two important updates that will affect how you access the Fornax Science Console and interact and receive notifications from our team:

1. Science Console URL Update (Effective August 21, 2025)

We will be transitioning to a new domain name for the Fornax Science Console. Please update your bookmarks accordingly:

2. Transition to Discourse for Announcements and Support

Starting August 7, 2025, all news, system announcements, and notifications (including planned maintenance and outages) will be communicated through our new community and support platform: Discourse.

What is Discourse?
Discourse is a modern, open-source discussion platform designed for community engagement and collaboration. It allows users to ask questions, share knowledge, report issues, and receive updates in a centralized and searchable environment.

To ensure you continue to receive important communications, users must login to activate their Discourse account:

Discourse Access Instructions

Once on the page, click the “Login” button in the upper right-hand corner.

Discourse will enable you to ask questions, post comments, and engage with other users and the Fornax team. As with all Fornax components, this platform is in active development, and we welcome your feedback.

If you have any issues accessing the new URL or Discourse platform, please contact us at: fornax-helpdesk@lists.nasa.gov

Thank you for being part of the Fornax community and helping us build a better science cloud.

Sincerely,
The Fornax Team
