Downtime and Important Change for Login to Fornax Science Console (Sat., Jan. 10)

The Fornax Science Console will be offline on Saturday, January 10, while a major update is installed. We will post a second announcement here when the update is finished and the Science Console is available again.

After the update, every login will require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

This is now a NASA requirement. When you login to the Fornax Science Console, a code will be sent to the email address you registered with Fornax. That code will be necessary for you to complete the login. Once you are logged in, you will stay logged in for up to 24 hours. After that time, you will automatically be logged out, and need to login again if you wish to continue - a new code will be emailed to you for that login, and so on with each future login.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have questions or encounter difficulties, please post in this Forum or send email to fornax-helpdesk@lists.nasa.gov

In addition to the above, starting at about 6PM ET on 01/09/2026, you may notice that commands (in python or in the terminal) may hang for a few seconds when initially invoked. This is part of the migration and will be fixed once the migration is complete.

The migration was completed late last night; but the console is now fully available for use. Please let us know if there are any issues or questions.
