I have a large (8GB) tarball I would like to download from Fornax, and I try to do that from the data browser on the left, but the process fails almost immediately. Is there a preferred way?
Thanks in advance!
Matteo
Thank you for reporting this issue. JupyterLab appears to enforce a 100MB limit. We are looking at ways to support larger downloads and will let you know what we find as soon as we can.
We are looking into this; when we have an update for the fix, we’ll let you know.
FYI we’re still working on a long-term solution for this…
@matteobachetti, thanks again for raising this. The issue is not yet resolved, and we’re not able to provide a timeline at this point.
We’re tracking progress internally. We’ll close this ticket for administrative purposes, but the request remains recorded.
Please feel free to open a new ticket if anything changes or additional context would be helpful.
We have been able to download results today - upwards of 20GB. I didn’t think it’s worth announcing - due to the inconsistent and unpredicable behavior - buce since it’s been closed, I wanted to add a note here to that effect. @matteobachetti - if you want to try getting that data –you should retry. Unfortunately it’s not currently “resolved” to the degree we’d like…..

The team found issue that was causing the occasional download failures. It is to do with load balancers. A solution has been deployed and we have not seen the failures again. If this is encountered again, please let us know.
