Disk quota exceeded error despite being assigned much more home storage than I am using

I was given a code 122 OS error earlier while downloading some data into my home directory (“Disk quota exceeded”).

The data in question were relatively small, a few GBs probably, and more to the point I am using around 150 GB in my home directory (so far as I can tell from du -sh * ), and the FSC dashboard tells me that I have 743.09 GB of storage in use (if I remember rightly that should show all the storage assigned to me, because that is what I my credits are paying for? - though I thought my home directory was set at 500 GB).

Anyway, a strange occurrence, and I couldn’t find anything to diagnose it with looking at the Grafana earlier, so please could someone from core team take a look at it for me?

I updated your quota to 500GB and we’re looking into the issue.

Unsure whether this is related or not, but I’ve been getting Jupyter ‘file save error’ s popping up today. Both 499 and 504.

I’m testing out other people’s notebooks and software so I’m not absolutely sure of what they’re doing in the background, but it doesn’t seem to be writing huge quantities of data, and the ipynb notebooks themselves are only a couple of MBs, so not huge.

Worth noting that the errors keep popping up even after the notebook has stopped running, just as I’m trying to save it before shutting it down.
